Black smoke and car fires reported at wrecking yard

Firefighters have successfully contained a fire at a car wrecker’s yard in Ngongotahā near Rotorua, New Zealand. Residents are advised to stay indoors, keeping doors and windows closed, due to thick smoke in the area. Video footage shows large plumes of black smoke emanating from the blaze. Fire and Emergency New Zealand continues to monitor the situation.
