Twenty-two Ukrainian soldiers traveled over 1,000 km from Lviv to Mount Athos seeking peace and escape from battlefield memories, visiting twelve Greek monasteries as part of a psychological support program. Accompanied by a Ukrainian Orthodox priest, soldiers like Ivan Kovalik, who lost both legs, found solace in the trip, with five days on Mount Athos equivalent to a year of rehabilitation. The soldiers, traumatized by their experiences, require specialized care to overcome post-war stress and reintegrate into peaceful life.
