RAC Warns Against Common Windscreen De-Icing Method

The cold snap, originally projected to end on Monday, will continue with Thursday seeing the lowest winter temperatures yet, dropping to -15°C in Scotland or northern England. Fronts moving in from the southwest on Friday and Saturday bring the potential for more snow, with warnings in place. The RAC warns against using hot water to de-ice windshields, as it can weaken or crack the glass; instead, they recommend using warm air from the engine and air con, along with an ice scraper and deicing fluid for safe driving conditions.
