Workers report viewing Ray-Ban footage of bathroom use

Meta’s user privacy practices are facing scrutiny after a report revealed that employees of a subcontractor, Sama, based in Kenya, viewed sensitive content recorded by Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. The February report included insights from over 30 Sama employees involved in data annotation for Meta’s AI systems. Additionally, former Meta employees corroborated witnessing live data annotation activities. The investigation did not access the materials handled by Sama workers or their work environment.
