Woman stranded on beach after wheelchair became stuck in sand

On Christmas Eve, a woman in Boltenhagen, Germany, became stranded in her 200kg wheelchair after it sank into the soft sand while approaching the Baltic Sea. Despite efforts from a companion to free her for over an hour, they had to call the fire brigade for assistance. Rescuers used a carrying sling to help the woman to safety and then worked for 45 minutes to pull the heavy wheelchair out of the dunes. Fortunately, she was unharmed after the ordeal in freezing temperatures.
