Woman in Coma After Drinking Cleaning Fluid Mistaken for Alcohol

At least 10 people were injured after mistakenly drinking a highly corrosive cleaning liquid instead of Schnapps at a restaurant in Timmendorfer Strand, Germany, on New Year’s Eve. The victims, aged 31 to 84, suffered chemical burns, with one woman placed in a medically induced coma for recovery. Emergency services responded to the incident, which is under investigation for negligent bodily harm. This is not the first occurrence of such a mix-up in the region, as a similar incident happened in 2016.
