Democrat-backed liberal judge Susan Crawford won a seat on Wisconsin’s Supreme Court, defeating Republican-backed conservative Brad Schimel in a closely watched race influenced by President Trump and Elon Musk. The victory maintained the court’s liberal majority, with Crawford holding a 10-point lead. Musk and his political groups spent about $18m supporting Schimel, making it the costliest judicial race in US history with a total spending of close to $99m.
