This winter, residents of Sault Ste. Marie are struggling with heavy ice and snow buildup in their driveways due to city snow removal efforts. In response to numerous complaints, city council is exploring the costs of hiring private contractors to clear these problematic windrows at the end of driveways. Councillor Luke Dufour noted that previous city attempts to manage this issue were ineffective. A report on potential contractor costs will be available this summer, with implementation possible for next winter.
