The CDU’s Friedrich Merz views wind power as a “transitional technology,” while the far-right AfD has threatened to dismantle all wind turbines and questioned climate change, despite their second-place polling position. Other major parties have committed to not forming a coalition with the AfD, making the CDU’s stance on wind power more influential for the next government.
