Under a new six-month nationwide trial, non-life-threatening 995 calls in Singapore will be redirected to the NurseFirst triage helpline to alleviate emergency service pressure. Hosts Steven Chia and Otelli Edwards interview Col Dr David Pflug and Dr Jade Kua about the process, emphasizing that the NurseFirst helpline is designed for non-critical cases while assuring callers that life-threatening emergencies should still call 995 directly. The initiative aims to streamline medical responses and ensure appropriate care is provided based on the urgency of the situation.
