Wildfires prompt mass evacuations as fires spread across Europe

At least a dozen people have been hospitalized in Croatia as wildfires spread through the tourist town of Omis, driven by strong winds. Fourteen individuals were admitted to a hospital in Split, with seven in critical condition. Meanwhile, thousands have been evacuated across Germany, France, and Greece due to ongoing wildfires exacerbated by recent heatwaves, which have scorched approximately 500,000 hectares of land in the European Union this summer.
