In the Israeli-occupied West Bank, 90 Palestinian prisoners, mostly women, were released in celebration as part of an Israel-Hamas ceasefire, with families eagerly awaiting their return after being detained without charge. The ceasefire also included the release of three Israeli captives, with more releases expected in the coming weeks. Prominent prisoners included Khalida Jarrar, a feminist activist and leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, who has been vocal about Palestinian prisoner rights, and journalist Rula Hassanein. In total, 1,900 Palestinian prisoners are expected to be freed during the ceasefire, with 33 Israeli captives also set to be released.
