After the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Israeli-United States strikes, Iran has established a three-member interim leadership council to govern the country. This council, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, the chief justice of the Supreme Court Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, and Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, will lead Iran until Khamenei’s successor is chosen. The government has vowed to retaliate against those responsible for Khamenei’s death.
