WHO approves first Mpox diagnostic test for emergency use, boosting global access

The WHO declared mpox a global public health emergency for the second time in two years, due to an outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo spreading to neighboring African countries. Cases of the fast-spreading Mpox strain, clade 1b, have been reported in Sweden, Thailand, and India, with Kerala reporting its first case.
