After 135 years, a ceremonial pipe belonging to Chief Whitecap has returned to the Whitecap Dakota First Nation, facilitated by the Willoughby family, descendants of a Saskatoon doctor to whom the chief gifted the pipe in 1889. The repatriation was celebrated with a ceremony, emphasizing the importance of such artifacts in teaching youth about their culture and traditions.
