Demolition work has commenced on the White House’s East Wing to create a new ballroom, a project initiated by President Donald Trump and the first major structural change since 1948. Despite lacking formal approval due to a government shutdown, the $250 million project aims to accommodate larger gatherings and will be funded privately, with construction led by McCrery Architects and Clark Construction.
