What is the cheapest way to heat a home in Spain?

Gas boilers are commonly used for heating homes in Spain, but the rising fuel prices have prompted a search for more economical and efficient alternatives. Heat pumps on air-con units are considered the most cost-effective way to heat homes, with an annual expense of around €455. Pellet heaters are also affordable, costing about €545 per year for a 90m2 house. Gas heating remains popular but can cost between €600 and €2,000 per year. Portable gas heaters provide control over expenses but are limited to heating one room, while oil radiators are inexpensive but slow to heat and bulky.
