New snow warnings have been issued across the UK, with two amber alerts in place as a cold blast is expected to bring sub-zero temperatures, health risks, and disruption over the weekend. The Midlands, Wales, and parts of northern England will be covered by amber warnings for snow and ice, with up to 40cm of snow predicted in the worst affected areas. Additionally, seven yellow weather warnings have been issued for snow, ice, or rain, and the UK Health Security Agency has issued a Cold-Health Alert due to the increased risk to health from the freezing conditions.
