For Stuart and Duncan Kirk, long-time England football supporters from Ipswich, the Republic of Ireland v England match on Saturday brings back memories of the ugly scenes in 1995, when rioting by England fans at Lansdowne Road led to the abandonment of the match after 27 minutes and disorder on the streets before and after the game. The countries now meet in Dublin for only the second time in 29 years to begin their respective Uefa Nations League campaigns, prompting Stuart to wonder about the potential for history to repeat itself.
