Sally Buzbee, the first woman to lead The Washington Post newsroom, is stepping down as executive editor after nearly seven years in the role. During her tenure, she oversaw the Post’s coverage of major events such as the 2020 presidential election and the Covid-19 pandemic. Buzbee will be succeeded by Martin Baron, who previously served as executive editor of The Washington Post from 2013 to 2021.
