Washington Post: MN Church Protest Affects Religious Liberty

The Washington Post editorial board condemned a recent protest at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, labeling it an “assault on religious liberty.” Over two dozen activists disrupted a service seeking a pastor affiliated with ICE, prompting criticism of ex-CNN anchor Don Lemon for his on-site reporting, which was deemed to traumatize children. While acknowledging frustrations with ICE, the Post argued that political protests in places of worship undermine community and faith. They emphasized that the First Amendment allows both protest and religious practice, asserting that one does not override the other.
