Extradition Request for Arrested Thief from UK to Belgium

Hugo Javier Marin Salgado, a 68-year-old Venezuelan man, was arrested in the UK under an Interpol Red Notice for organized armed robbery related to a diamond heist in Antwerp. He had been sentenced to 37 months in prison in absentia by the Antwerp Criminal Court in 2017. Salgado consented to extradition to Belgium while already serving a sentence in the UK, but his extradition will be delayed until he completes his current term, as determined by Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
