Switzerland’s government will provide a one-off payment of 50,000 Swiss francs (approximately $91,000) to severely injured survivors and families of the 41 victims of the New Year bar fire in Crans-Montana. In total, the federal government will allocate 7.8 million francs ($14.2 million) for 156 individuals most affected, alongside additional support from the canton of Valais. Authorities are also working to facilitate out-of-court settlements for victims, aiming to expedite necessary legislation.
