Global Issue of Kidnapping and Sex Trafficking

The World Health Organisation has recognized violence against women and girls (VAWG) as a global epidemic, with nearly one in three women experiencing physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. Delphine Uwamahoro, a Rwandan who overcame her circumstances through education, has established programs to empower women and combat gender-based violence. In Rwanda, a significant percentage of women face intimate partner violence, and poverty exacerbates their plight. Delphine’s initiatives focus on fostering awareness and providing women with the tools to reclaim their agency.
