Uttarakhand’s UCC sees low interest in live-in registrations

A Hindu couple in Dehradun, living together for four years, is considering moving due to recent legal changes, with the man expressing concern about the impact of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) on their relationship. The State Home Secretary in Uttarakhand noted the positive response to the UCC, with over 5,000 individuals registering for marriage or marital approval under the new law, while only seven individuals have registered their live-in relationships.
