Tech3 KTM stand-in rider Pol Espargaro criticized Franco Morbidelli’s aggressive maneuver on lap one of the Portuguese Grand Prix, deeming it “way too aggressive.” The incident at Turn 5 saw Morbidelli, riding for VR46 Ducati, crash and retire from the race, making him the biggest loser of the situation. Despite being among the riders Morbidelli attempted to overtake, Espargaro emphasized the recklessness of the move.
