Lando Norris acknowledged that “too many mistakes” affected his final qualifying lap at the Spanish Grand Prix, leading to his loss of pole position to McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri. Norris held provisional pole after the first Q3 runs, leading Piastri by a mere 0.017 seconds. However, Piastri clinched the top spot with a time of 1m11.546s, surpassing Norris’s time of 1m11.755s on his final attempt.
