Reigning IndyCar champion Alex Palou secured a strong start to his title defense by winning the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The Chip Ganassi Racing Honda driver, who began the race in fourth, executed an early overcut pit strategy to take the lead and maintained control for the last 62 laps. Palou finished 12.4948 seconds ahead of polesitter Scott McLaughlin, who led 34 laps during the race.
