The 2026 Formula 1 regulations introduce significant changes, notably a reduced minimum car weight of 768kg, down from the previous 800kg limit, which poses a challenge for teams. This weight reduction has been achieved primarily by decreasing the size of the cars, including a maximum wheelbase reduction of 200mm to 3400mm. As teams adapt to these new hybrid engine rules, meeting the lower weight requirement is expected to be a considerable hurdle.
