The USS Edsall, a U.S. warship lost during WWII, was found by Australia’s navy last year. The ship was engaged in a valiant battle against Japanese forces, ultimately succumbing to overwhelming odds. The Edsall played a role in sinking a Japanese submarine before being attacked by Japanese battleships and cruisers. The crew’s courageous efforts and evasive maneuvers were recognized by Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti.
