Alex Freeman has transferred from Orlando City to Villarreal for approximately $4 million, with additional potential add-ons, and has signed a contract until June 2032. The 21-year-old right back, who had a breakout season in 2025 earning MLS All-Star and Young Player of the Year honors, is also expected to play a key role for the U.S. men’s national team ahead of the World Cup. Orlando City retains a sell-on percentage for any future transfers. Freeman joins Villarreal, currently fourth in La Liga.
