The United States is providing $45m in aid to Thailand and Cambodia to support border stabilisation efforts, demining, and combat drug trafficking and cyberscams. The aid aims to help implement the peace accords brokered by President Donald Trump, following recent border clashes and a ceasefire agreement. Both countries have been in conflict over territorial disputes and historical issues, with Trump claiming credit for resolving the conflict. The US has also been working to improve relations with Cambodia to counter China’s influence in the region.
