US seizes tanker off Venezuela coast

The US has seized another tanker off the coast of Venezuela, with the Coast Guard leading the operation and the military providing support. President Trump has declared a total blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers going in and out of Venezuela, causing vessels to stay put in fear of interception. More than 70 oil tankers in Venezuelan waters are part of a shadow fleet, with some sanctioned by the US Treasury, as tensions between the US and Venezuela escalate over accusations of drug trafficking and oil reserve seizure.
