US requests extradition of Filipino church leader for fraud and sexual crimes

The U.S. has requested the Philippines extradite Apollo Quiboloy, a church leader on the FBI’s most wanted list, to face charges of child sex trafficking and fraud. The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs has forwarded the request to the Department of Justice, but it requires approval from two courts, as Quiboloy faces ongoing trials for related offenses. Quiboloy, who claims to be the “appointed son of God,” was arrested in 2024 and has denied the allegations against him.
