The head of the UN nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, emphasized the urgency of reaching a diplomatic agreement to prevent war between the U.S. and Iran, citing the intact state of Iran’s enriched nuclear materials despite U.S. military strikes. Following recent negotiations in Geneva, both sides acknowledged progress, although significant details remain unresolved. Meanwhile, former President Trump has increased U.S. military presence in the region, threatening new strikes if a deal is not reached. Grossi noted a willingness from both parties to negotiate, but warned that time is running out to avoid further military confrontation.
