US urges Sudan warring parties to accept ceasefire plan
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The U.S. envoy, Massad Boulos, urged Sudan’s warring factions to accept a ceasefire proposal without preconditions, but it was rejected by both sides. RSF leader Hemedti announced a unilateral “humanitarian truce,” while Sudanese army chief al-Burhan criticized the plan as detrimental to the army’s position. NGOs continue to report severe atrocities, including war crimes by RSF fighters, exacerbated by alleged UAE support for the group. The Sudan Doctors Network condemned a recent attack by RSF and SPLM, marking a violation of the supposed truce.
