Amazon’s first-generation Fire TV models, including the Fire TV, Fire TV stick, and Fire TV stick with Alexa Voice Remote, will lose compatibility with the Netflix app starting June 3, 2023, as these devices were released in 2014 and 2016. Netflix has not specified the reason for this decision, but it may relate to the introduction of newer video coding formats that enhance image quality. Users are encouraged to upgrade to newer models with 4K resolution, which will remain supported for the foreseeable future.
