Urgent recall for thousands of chainsaws after 20 fire and burn incidents

Unsafe Chainsaws Recalled

DR Power Equipment has recalled 7,180 lithium-ion battery-powered chainsaws due to fire and burn hazards, following 20 reports of incidents involving fire, sparks, or smoke. The chainsaws, identifiable by their black handle and orange buttons, were sold from June 2018 to July 2024 for $200 to $350, and customers are advised to stop using them immediately and seek a pro-rated refund, which requires proof of destruction. Those disposing of the chainsaws should recycle the lithium-ion batteries according to local regulations.
