Unseen paths: Young and visually impaired in Costa Rica

About 18 percent of Costa Rica’s population lives with a disability, facing challenges in accessing education and work. A 23-year-old photographer with visual impairments focuses on young individuals navigating their lives with disabilities in a photo essay for the Safe Photography Project, emphasizing the importance of support from friends and family. Through intimate photography techniques, the essay showcases the resilience, adaptation, and personal growth of two teenagers with visual impairments, inviting viewers to reflect on the strength found in overcoming limitations.
