PEPFAR, through the US Government, has supported over 50 countries in combatting AIDS, saving over 25 million lives and preventing new infections. In Ethiopia, PEPFAR has invested over USD three billion in building healthcare infrastructure and providing treatment to over 521,036 people living with HIV. The focus now is on achieving long-term sustainability in the fight against HIV/AIDS by strengthening public health systems, fostering community leadership, and transitioning to a sustained effort for prevention, treatment, and achieving viral suppression by 2030 and beyond.
