Rep. Eric Swalwell, a prominent critic of Donald Trump, is facing scrutiny over over 75 payments totaling over $360,000 to staffer Darly Meyer, with inconsistent reasons listed in campaign filings from the FEC. Payments varied from travel expenses to salary, raising questions about legitimacy. Meyer, who also runs a limousine service and manages a Facebook group for Haitians, did not comment on the payments. Former FEC commissioner Hans von Spakovsky suggested these irregularities warrant FEC investigation.
