UN special rapporteur reminds Canada of need to respect international law

Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territories, reminded the Canadian government of its international law obligations during a visit to Montreal. She presented her report titled “Genocide as colonial erasure,” describing the Palestinian people as victims of a “live-streamed colonial genocide.” The need for Canada to respect international law was emphasized in her address.
