UN boosts support at border with Syria

UNHCR reported that hundreds of vehicles and people were stuck at the Syrian border, with many arriving on foot carrying their belongings. Large crowds, including women and children, waited in long lines after spending the night outdoors in cold temperatures, some with fresh injuries from recent bombings. UNHCR chief Filippo Grandi expressed concern for families who had already endured years of civil war in Syria, now facing further hardships at the border.
