Tanya Liddle, Britain’s most prolific shoplifter, has been convicted for the 180th time after stealing £1,300 worth of goods, including Cadbury’s creme eggs, from six shops in just 72 hours in Newcastle. Despite being banned from most stores in the Northumbria Police area and having been arrested over 400 times, she continues to evade capture using various disguises. Shop staff report that her frequent thefts have caused significant losses, questioning the effectiveness of her bans and the leniency of her sentencing.
