The Associated Press news agency has verified footage from Ukrainian and Russian sources depicting the four soldiers.

Ukraine is investigating a war crime after four captured soldiers were allegedly killed by Russian forces on March 13 in Piatykhatky, as they emerged unarmed with hands raised, according to Ukrainian officials. Dmytro Lubinets stated that drone footage shows Russian soldiers shooting the Ukrainians in violation of the Geneva Convention, and he intends to report the case to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN for further investigation into what he claims is a systemic policy of brutality by Russia.
