Ukrainian drones strike deep into Russian territory, hundreds of miles from the front line

In a significant escalation of the conflict, Ukraine launched drone attacks on the city of Kazan in Russia’s Tatarstan region, causing damage to residential buildings. The governor reported that eight drones were involved, with six hitting residential areas and one an industrial facility. No casualties were reported, but flights were suspended and mass gatherings canceled. This retaliation followed a Ukrainian missile attack on a Russian town, resulting in six fatalities. Ukraine’s Air Force shot down 57 of the 113 Russian drones sent into Ukraine, while 56 were likely jammed.
