Ukraine ‘holds back’ 50,000-strong force including North Koreans:  Zelenskyy

Ukrainian forces are currently holding off nearly 50,000 troops, including 11,000 North Koreans, in Russia’s Kursk region as part of Europe’s deadliest conflict since World War II. The situation has raised concerns of a dangerous escalation, with reports of Russia amassing soldiers, including North Koreans, to reclaim territory in Kursk. A treaty signed between Russia and North Korea includes a mutual defense assistance clause in case of aggression against either signatory, with the possibility of joint military exercises mentioned by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
