UK-Iraq London talks to mark ‘new era’

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosts Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to discuss trade, security, and migration, aiming to strengthen ties between the two countries. They will sign a strategic partnership agreement, initiate talks on a returns agreement for Iraqi migrants, and unveil a £12.3 billion export package. The visit comes amid preparations for the end of the Global Coalition’s military presence in Iraq and efforts to target people-smuggling gangs through security cooperation agreements.
