UK defence minister meets family of Kenyan woman who died after a night out with British soldiers

Kenyan criminal investigators have completed a probe into the 2012 death of Agnes Wanjiru, a young mother last seen with British soldiers in Nanyuki town; the public prosecutor’s office is reviewing the case. U.K Defense Secretary John Healey has promised to help Wanjiru’s family seek justice, meeting with them and planning to discuss the matter with Kenyan President William Ruto. Wanjiru’s 13-year-old daughter, left in the care of her grandmother and aunt, hopes for closure as the U.K and Kenya collaborate on the investigation, amidst concerns over British forces’ treatment of locals and the environment during training.
