Tornadoes in Midwest kill two amid extreme weather events

Two people were killed in tornadoes that struck Illinois and Indiana as severe “supercell” thunderstorms swept through the Midwest. The National Weather Service reported at least four tornadoes, with an elderly couple in Lake Village, Indiana, among the fatalities. The storms caused significant damage, knocking down utility poles and leaving roads impassable, while parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio remained under tornado watch. This extreme weather follows a previous incident last week that resulted in eight deaths across Michigan and Oklahoma.
